| Back in 1964 four graduates of UCLA had an idea to build an underwater restaurant with marine life show. Although the idea did not appear to be technically feasible at the time, it evolved into a new concept of marine zoological park. With only few dolphins, sea lions, two seawater aquariums, 45 employees and 22 acres of land in San Diego, CA the park quickly proved to be a smashing success with more than 400,000 guests visiting it the first year. Opening a park in Orlando was just an inevitable and logical step. Orlando, the theme park capital of the world offers year-round pleasant climate that is perfect for outdoor marine Park. |
| SeaWorld Orlando is the smallest of the three major theme parks in Orlando area, but don’t let its size fool you. After spending few days at the “other bigger parks”, SeaWorld offers you and your family a “breath of fresh air”, the coziness and virtual absence of long exhausting lines clearly separates the park from its “bigger colleagues”. The park has only few rides and the rest consists of shows designed to entertain and educate about marine preservation, bringing two worlds closer together. |
| SeaWorld literally takes you below the surface and above your expectations. Only here guests are immersed in the mysteries of the sea through the up-close animal interactions and stunning performances. Unlike most other theme parks, SeaWorld is not divided into sectors or “lands” or “islands”. The layout of the park allows you to walk from one show to another without having to wait too long before the next one starts. |
| It is fair to say that the most popular is Shamu show. Evolving over the past years, the newly redone project is called “Believe”. This captivating and visually stunning Shamu Show will transport you to the edge of wonder. Believe tastefully combines state-of-the-art choreography, new killer whale behaviors and cutting edge multimedia effects. You will be amazed and dazzled by the grace and agility of these sea creatures, each weighing 6,000 to 10,000 pounds. The show tracks the history of killer whales, and their battle for survival in our ever changing world. This inspirational new show also accentuates the close relationship SeaWorld trainers have with the killer whales. It is a breathtaking performance, unlike anything you have seen before. |
| There is no doubt that SeaWorld shows educate you about sea animals, but they also reveal that sea creatures have an amazing sense of humor. But don’t take our word for it - watch Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island. The swashbuckling adventure featuring the tale of lost treasure, pirate plunder and comical happenings on the high seas awaits you. And as always, the show allows for very up-close guest interaction with animals. |
| For a real visual treat guests are invited to attend “A ‘lure, The Call of the Ocean”, the show that tells the spectacular tale of the Sea Sirens, who have lured fishermen into their underwater lairs for centuries. Flying athletic performers, mesmerizing silk yo-yo artists and gravity-defying acrobats bring a majestic mariner’s story to life on a massive stage at Nautilus Theater. |
| Just like you can’t be fooled by the calm waters of the sea before storm, don’t get fooled by the abundance of seemingly “calm” performances in SeaWorld. Kraken will change your perception fast and easy. It is the tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster in Orlando. It is also the only “floorless” rollercoaster, designed so that the riders’ feet hang over the track. It drops you from over fifteen stories high and turns you upside down seven times at speeds reaching 65 miles per hour. You will literally feel like you are riding a storm. Note, that Kraken features a drop of 144 feet and a track length of 4,177 feet, so it is not suitable for young children and people with health conditions. |
| If you ever saw a movie featuring some sort of a shark attack then you probably wondered about these mysterious and, often perceived as threatening, creatures. SeaWorld Shark Encounter is referred to as one of the best attractions in SeaWorld. You will travel through the world’s biggest acrylic underwater tunnel where you will be just inches away from some of the world’s most dangerous sea predators like barracudas, venomous fish, and eels and over sixty sharks featuring hammer heads, bull sharks, tiger sharks and mini great whites. This is a great way to get up-close with the animals, you will, hopefully, not get to see in the wild. |
| SeaWorld is not only about sea animals. SeaWorld Pets Ahoy is a hilarious performance, showcasing the comedian talents of dogs, cats, birds, rats, skunks, potbellied pigs who perform a series of amazing skits. You will truly enjoy seeing more than 100 animal athletes showing off their soaring, jumping, flipping, high-wire walking and many more talents, all with a great comical twist. This show is a great example of all the educational and preservation work that is being done at SeaWorld. You will be impressed to learn that nearly all of these four-legged celebrities were rescued from numerous animal shelters before they found their fame at SeaWorld. At the end of every show, audience will have an opportunity to meet some of these “fury stars” and their trainers. Who knows, you might also get a photograph. |
